INTRO CLASSES: If you are new to pottery and interested in learning basic throwing skills, from centering and opening clay to pulling walls and finishing pots, sign up for four 90-minute one-on-one classes.
CONTINUING CLASSES & STUDIO TIME: If you have taken a set of intro classes with me and would like to build on basic skills and develop greater proficiency, sign up for continuing class sessions. Each session includes 30 minutes of instruction plus 60 minutes of independent studio time. Sign up for a minimum of two classes to make and trim pots.
POTTERY DATE NIGHT: WHEEL-THROWING CLASS FOR TWO: This 2-hour class for two is perfect for people interested in an evening of exploring the basics of wheel-throwing with focused instruction. I will trim and glaze the pots you make. A wonderful gift for special people in your life.
Fees includes instruction, materials, and firing. All classes are held in my home studio in Sandwich.
FEE SCALE: In an effort to support interested students and encourage access to classes, I am offering a tiered tuition scale for INTRO CLASSES.
Supporter Rate: $125 per 90-minute class=$500 per block of 4 classes
Standard Rate: $100 per 90-minute class=$400 per block of 4 classes
Community Rate: $75 per 90-minute class=$300 per block of 4 classes
Participants choose the rate that reflects their financial privilege. While I am working to balance accessibility with my family’s financial needs, I don’t want the cost of classes to be prohibitive. Please contact me if affordability remains a barrier to taking lessons.
CONTINUING CLASSES are offered at the Community Rate of $75 per 90-minute class.
For local families, the Sandwich Children and Youth Fund (SCYF) provides scholarships for Sandwich children up to age of 22 for participation in enrichment programs. Many families have accessed SCYF for pottery classes.
